Here we are back to the hustle and bustle of school and all the activities that surround it. I am interested in comments how other people are getting along.
To start, Car lines at school are the most bizarre phenomenon that I have ever experienced. You have a bunch of cars, filtering through a bottleneck into a parking lot, dropping kids off, similar to a NASCAR pit stop. On the subject of school, I have to give credit to the teachers; they are the backbone of our children’s education. However, the homework can get a bit much. My middle school kids seem to be working all hours of the day and night just to keep up. The one variable that is the toughest to manage is the extracurricular activities. Tennis here, football, there, religious school across town, study groups, tutoring, play dates, it becomes a logistical nightmare. I have to tell you, my wife and I are a few weeks into this marathon and the “legs are giving out”!
But, we all make it through the eight to nine months of overlapping schedules and recharge during the summer. (Which seems shorter and shorter every year.) The smiles on the faces, “A”s on the report cards or a run for a touchdown all make it worth it!
How many days until summer break?
But then again, that’s the way I see it!
